Saw that Athanasiou was given a 4-year contract and immediately knew there wasn't going to be a single logical move made here.

That trade make me think really hard so I guess that means it’s an even one.

This is exactly the opposite of what FSG has indicated they want to do.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Guentzel is 31 when we are competitive. I do believe it is good value though. Rather just make those picks.

Ya, I’d prefer to load up on draft picks and acquire more if possible, but it’s not a crazy drop but Jake is a little older than I’d prefer.

As a Liverpool supporter, you don’t want FSG to have a lot of influence on personnel decisions.

As a Red Wings fan, I hope you let them run all of your personnel decisions.

But you know you're just wasting the final years of the core right?

Yes. I’d rather work torwards future success than putting off selling. IMO the current roster won’t be able to make any deep playoff runs, so there is no reason to be competitive. Plus some of the core would most likely want out a couple of seasons into the retool, and you may be able to acquire more future assets for them.

Panthers being in the Stanley Cup Final is making it real hard for me to go along with that argument lol

Ok and I’m pretty sure Liverpool won the league for the first time in 30 years under FSG.

And immediately went into the next season with only 3 CB(2 of which were injury prone) and still have yet to sign a young quality midfielder to replace guys past their primes in 3+ years.
