Consume As Little As Possible

Created by: IDKtbh
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: May 24, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Leverage our draft position & picks to load up the prospect pipeline and make our big moves/trades next offseason.

Btw, I used a trade value chart for the NSH trade. This is obviously assuming there is a player they fall in love with at #9 and move up otherwise we could do the trade with another team potentially.

and there's been multiple mocks with them both there (some even with Will Smith available at 9)... it's all speculative, but my point is, the player that will be there at 9 is likely to be a lot closer to a sure thing, than the one there at 15 and I don't think we can afford to drop down in this draft... hell, if the price was right, I'd be all for them trading up and it's not about next year, it's the year after or even 25-26...

I’m down for a trade up but it’s expensive to get the player that I’d want. It would likely cost both our firsts and more to move up to #3 or #4 and get Leo Carlsson. So a lot obviously is going to depend on who is there at #9 and if someone like say Leo falls to #5 or #6, it’d be more cost effective to move up 3-4 spots as opposed to 5-6 spots.

For me, there is a solid 30 players in the top 50 that I would be thrilled with any combination of 5-6 of or more.

We’re in a current position to add five top 43 players and I’m good with that however it shakes out.
