Nurse wouldn't waive his NMC for Pittsburgh.

Yep that sounds like Dubas....Making bad trades, and in this case, severely overpaying UFAs, and having no cap with a 21 man roster.

So we clear all that camp space to bring in Darnell nurse and over $9 million. Right. That totally makes sense…

Detroit accepts.

Nurse doesn't waive for Pittsburgh.

And Filip Hallander just signed a 5 year deal to play in his native Sweden, So you can't trade his rights, As more than likely his NHL career is over.

Nawr. Don't think we need to pay for Petry at all. If he wants out, he'll waive for Detroit. If he doesn't, we can pay a lil more and get a decent younger 2RD for a 2nd.

Bad. And Hallander is in Sweden. And Dubas probably takes the Ottawa job.

You could not be more wrong about Hallinder.
A.) His right most definitely can be traded and they hold decent value, relatively speaking.
B.) Plenty of RFA players have returned to their home nations to play and almost always have NHL out clauses. Meaning, if dealt to an NHL team who sees them on their roster, the contract is terminated.
C.) 2009 was really a defining year, wasn’t it? I’d say it shaped the trajectory of two franchise, in opposite directions.
