Calgary doesn't need help on the backend. They have more than enough dmen signed to make the roster.

Going to split the difference. It's a good move for both teams and fair value.
Flames free up cap space and a roster spot for some youth (I know they will likely trade Vladar to free up cap space). Coghlan can be a 3rd pairing RHD dman for the future.
Canes get a 30 goal scorer that they can move around their lineup.
