Fair enough, I didn't have any particular teams in mind really. Figured that would be the kind of deal to offload Goose though.

He just doesn't fit in with us, it's not really the value thing obviously

This doesn't fit Minnesota's cap. Fiala was traded partially because it was reported Minnesota was saving money to offer kaprizov the moon. Plus how does Minnesota put together a semblance of team this two two years? They can't

Yeah unfortunately MN just can't afford to make any big moves. It seems the earliest we'd be able to do anything really significant would be TDL in the 24-25 season and that's assuming you've accumulated cap like they did this year and are in a position where it makes sense. With the buyouts dropping off that summer, you'd have the flexibility to re-sign any big acquisition.

But more than likely nothing major happens and we start ramping up at the 2025 draft.

Foligno, Zucc, Hartman, and Flower are all coming off the books after next season. If the Wild are willing to gut out that last cap crunch season this way, they would be set up supremely well to contend in 25'-26' with a #1 center for 97.

And Kaprizov is under contract for three more years and doesn't need to be resigned until after the crunch is over with. So, not really sure what you're getting at there. Before last season, all those players I just mentioned still had term left and thus it was impossible to get Fiala done. Now that they are all in their last years, something like this could be do-able. Not at all likely to be certain, but do-able.

Just saying, if Guerin was willing to spin the tires on Eichel way back when, then he is willing to do the same in this scenario. *shrug*

Yes, that seems to be the most likely scenario.
