MIN / WPG - Not horrible for both. YES for WPG.

LAK / WPG - Not bad. Makes sense for both. YES for WPG!

BUF / WPG - Not bad. 1 young forward who will probably be a top 6 forward, if not top 3 for years for a Vezina goalie that singlehandedly wins games. Hard to pass on Savoie. YES for WPG!

TOR / WPG - YES for WPG!!!!!!!!!!! No way TOR goes for it.

CAR / WPG - This makes 0 sense for WPG. WPG says NO!

NJD / WPG - YES for WPG! No way NJD goes for it.

NYR / WPG - NYR wants to go for it again, so this might work. YES for WPG. Not sure if NYR goes for it.

EDM / WPG - ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FREAKING MIND????? Morrissey is as close to untouchable as a player can be on WPG. He's the last player they trade unless they get something CRAZY back in return. Are you with the Oilers? That's a garbage return for the best WPG JET. Like... GARBAGE. You just got fired and no one ever hires you for anything other than delivering pizza on that trade.

Funnily enough, OP is a Devils fan. I think the Devils would consider this. If anything I would try to sell WPG on Walsh over Foote or Yegor.

Nino back with the Canes wouldn’t be terrible, but you’re not getting more for him than you paid when your only getting 2 months of regular season + one playoff run.

I just thought that NJD would NOT want to give up Holtz. That was my issue from NJD's side.

My thought process was as follows: Holtz doesn’t have a spot on our team unless he’s slotted into the top 6 imo. He’s a perfect passenger player for Hughes/Bratt/Meier/Hischier but Ruff doesn’t trust him enough in that role so I think that’s more of a pipe dream.

Sharangovich is also probably on his way out, Ruff didn’t like him down the stretch or in the playoffs. I think he has some value but not very much rn.

Foote is probably a viable bottom 6 option for the Devils right now but I’d rather slot in Graeme Clarke which makes Foote kinda the odd man out.

Devils acquire Kyle Connor who is a bonafide superstar top 6 option to slot in next to Hughes and Bratt and pot 50+ goals a year.

It might be a bit of an overpay, in which case substitute one of Walsh/Vilen/Stillman instead of Foote.

Honestly I see the reasoning but unless he’s getting top 6 minutes at the NHL level I think we should be looking to trade him for a proven top 6 player.

Now that doesn't make sense for EDM. I can't see EDM giving up McJesus for Morrissey. It would be something more like.... Helly, Morrissey, Ehlers, Samberg and retention on all , plus WPG's 1st pick this year for Mc. Even then, I doubt EDM would go for it.

Morrissey for McDavid, Draisatl, Hyman, and Kane with half retention on McDavid, Draisatl, and Hyman. Understood.

Rangers pass, cannot afford an extension.

NYR pass-- cannot afford the extension with Scheifele, and anything they would/could give up to fit him (Chytil, Trocheck, etc) isn't worth packaging since chytil is much younger and both are more cost controlled

I think the suggested Connor trade is fair value but I'd really not want the Devils to do this given that Connor only has 3 years left of term.
For that big a package the Devils should target assets with longer team control, Keller's 5 years if would be a much better fit for example (and even then that's a little too short for my tastes).

On the other side of that coin, Edmonton isn't really interested in Morrissey either. They already have a bunch of LHD under contract for the next few years: Nurse, Ekholm, Kulak and Broberg.

Also, Morrissey has only had one good season offensively and wouldn't get cherry PP minutes in Edmonton.

In short, you'll get a better return elsewhere. We'll take Nino & DeMelo at those prices though.
