PIT trade: CHI is paying too much to move up 5 spots. Switch the 2nd to the TBL 2nd, and make the 3rd a 4th or a 5th.

EDM: Take Murphy out of that deal and CHI still declines. Campbell is gonna be expensive to dump. Plus, Soderblom is due for serious NHL ice time. Putting up another roadblock seems counter productive.

Hawks don't do the first one and definately not that 2nd trade. The ask for Murphy retained that much would be 2 firsts and you are offering a a former 1st where the questions are starting to accumulate (although he is still young), a late 2nd.....and then drumroll a dump you would need to add a 1st for anyone to take in Campbell.

Yeah... I mean, if they are the best player available, MAYBE. But even then, with the depth of this draft, I'm sure there will be comparably ranked forwards available too. And Forward is definitely the priority.
