I don't think the Flames would retain salary on Mangiapane. I also don't think that MTL needs a cheap Mangiapane unless you're planning on flipping him.

As for the pick swap, what a mess I'm guessing that you're just trying to load up on 2023 picks because you heard it was a deep draft.

Vladar I value as a 3rd, Schwindt doesn't add any value, Beck is a good prospect with injury issues so I have a hard time putting a value on him.

Mailloux is an interesting add. CGY doesn't need a goalie, they have Wolf coming up. The rest of the MTL adds don't add any value.

So essentially you're trading Mangiapane(50%) + Vladar for Mailloux and a 1st, and a 3rd... That favors the Flames IMO.

WTH?! It favors Montreal bigtime... Even without retention on Mangi.

So you think that MTL gets the better from that deal? Essentially getting Mangiapane for 2 firsts? The one that had 43 points last year?

What two 1sts? Nobody is touching Mailloux it'd be a PR disaster... Just like it was for Montreal. And yeah Mangi had 43 points last year... Playing in a defensive role on a shutdown line against the opposition's best players. Next year there'll be more of a focus on offense. He'll blow this year's numbers away while still being a good defensively responsible two way player.

Of course I've no doubt you know all that. It's why you're making a lowball offer for him. Do you really think if you know that we Flames fans don't know it even better?

I actually am a Flame fan, and I thought Mang had a terrible first half. He only started playing well after being combined with Backlund and Coleman. I still think he's overpaid based on last season. As for the defensive role, he actually started in a more offensive role with Dube and Kadri then he got an opportunity with Lindholm and Toffoli, and I don't think he looked great defensively in either assignment. He always bring a high effort, but at $5.8M it's a risky contract.

Moreover, he's a UFA in 2 years, so how does that fit with MTL?

As for Mailloux, I don't think he'll be a PR disaster. He made a mistake, he shared an intimate photo of a girl. I mean a lot of18 year old guys can be terrible that way. That's because they don't yet realize the consequences of their actions.
