That’s even worse than the original trade for the Canucks
Boeser >>>> Hoffman
Beauvillier >>>>>>>> Armia
Myers <<< Kovacevic
11 OA >>>>>>>>> 37 OA

Canucks easily pass on the Montreal trade. That’s awful for them. Take out Hoffman, Myers, and 11 OA

I know... lolll.... I was just taking everything he doesn't want and do only one trade to show it was VERY BAD!!!
remove the 1st from Van... and then we can start talking as you shred 16M against 8M to sign players...

You forgot to take out Boeser, Kovacevic and 37 OA. Myers for Kov plus a pick swap makes sense, maybe not the picks presented here but it still makes sense to save you cap and give you a RD to immediately fill that hole. No way is MTL paying you for Boeser though.

Borser has 'negative value' with his cap hit for 2 more years, Hoffman has 'no value' at 4.5m for just one year.
Meyers alone will cost a 1st to dump (just like Monahan did)
Kovavic has decent value
So yes dumping 8 million (almost 10% of the cap) and getting a good D with a cheap contract will cost moving down from 11 to 37

You wouldn’t pay for a winger who only had 0.04 less PPG last season than Caufield despite the fact that it was a down year and he dealt with a wrist injury? A winger who instantly becomes your second best winger (also would be your best winger if Caufield doesn’t end up signing, which seems like a possibility)

No I would not. That doesn't mean someone else won't but I would not personally pay for him. He's not a game-breaker or highly unique. He's good but why pay assets to acquire a player that plays a position where we have a depth of options? He doesn't push us over the edge or play a position of need within the organization so there is no reason to move assets we need to bring him in, we'll use the roster spots for prospect development instead.

Ottawa would make themselves a worse team if they tried to make room for Beauvillier's cap hit. Declined.
