That's even more lopsided than the last trade between NSH and PIT. Preds decline.

Petry's an older, worse player on a more expensive contract - with an extra year. I don't think there's an adjustment to be made - it's just a flat out no from NSH.

Pens decline. You have the cap room to keep Petry and he's the better player - just keep him.

A stronger one of what?

The Pens 2nd PP unit was pretty good actually - looked better than the first unit throughout the season. Paying to trade for a worse player just to improve the 30 seconds of PP time the 2nd unit gets doesn't seem like a very smart move to me. But maybe that's just me. Just my thoughts. If Barrie made half that money and you needed a PP specialist, then maybe. Or if you had to cut Petry for cap reasons - then I could see it. It's not a terrible trade - just not one I see the Pens doing

Who knows if Petry even waives for NSH. Or if NSH even wants him
