I don't know why EDM keeps trying to shove Yamo on WPG. They don't want him. No one does. EDM doesn't and the rest of the league says... NO.

If you want to trade YAMO, you need to retain and / or offer up a prospect.

Here, share this with your EDM buddies...

Offer Yamo and Xavier Bourgault or Reid Schaefer or Matvei Petrov for Demelo.

Then WPG waives Yamo or packages him elsewhere and uses the prospect they picked up to help the rebuild.

Demelo is only one a one year contract, an most likley wont resign with the Jets. They left him open in the Seattle expansion draft kinda showing they were fine with letting him go. Yams is 7 years youngers and fits the timeframe for their retool they mentioned instead of a rebuild which a prospect would do. If Demelo had more term I would say sure add a prospect but its just basically a one year rental.

I would argue that EK is the 1C, but fair enough if Minnesota wants to wait for the trade deadline to make moves.

You are correct on a number of points, but the MAIN issue is Yamamoto's size. The Jets do NOT want any more little guys and definitely not those that are making $3M per year that EDM doesn't even want any more.

There were times over the last 2 years that WPG was talking about trading off Demelo, but the offers just weren't enough to do it.

He's VERY much a stabilizing force on the team and can play with anyone and is very defensive minded. He's worth a LOT more than Yamo.

Ek is the best center on the team, sure. But he doesn't play the 1C position on the top line with Zuccarello and Kaprizov. That's Hartman. So by default, Hartman is the 1C, not Ek.

What role he plays means absolutely jack all to the discussion at hand. Kaprizov IS the 1st line, and Eriksson-Ek doesn't play with him there. He's not the 1C.

1C = 1st Line Center => 1(st line) C(enter). Not rocket science.

Excuse me? I never once said he was out there or that I WANT him out there in those situations. Quit putting words I don't mean and never once stated into this conversation.

AGAIN, there is a literal difference between being the BEST CENTER on the team and the 1ST LINE center.

The literal definition of a "1C" is the center who plays on the 1st line. Fun fact, Eriksson-Ek doesn't play on the 1st line. The idea or thought that Eriksson-Ek is the 1st line center or 1C because he's easily the best center on the team, is factually incorrect. Because, HE DOES NOT PLAY THAT POSITION ON THE ROSTER LINEUP.

So Ek is the best C by far but not the number one C. He plays the number 1 C in the most important situations of the game but he is not the number 1C. Lineup says he isnt starting, so he isnt 1C got it.
