      He has to go on a team on his trade list.....that eliminates a lot of teams, because they don't cap or need for Ullmark. Just by your three trades, maybe Jersey is the only choice.

      Edmonton with Soup, Skinner and Ulmark is kind of a head scratcher. I know you are probably a Bs fan but Edmonton would either ask you to take Soup or find some 3rd team to take him IF they were to do Ulmark. Although, curious how Ulmark heals from his post season injury and how he plays behind a defensively liable Edmonton D.

      With how he played in the playoffs, you should be thankful to get even that 😛

      Do you know what teams are on his list? I highly doubt it. You can’t speak for him. & I also find it hard to believe that he wouldn’t wanna go play with the best player in the world in Edmonton, or to a place like LA that was one of the better teams in the league this year - if they actually had a #1 goalie they probably woulda won the cup this year.

      Why does Edmonton pay so much more than the other teams you’ve listed?

      Look around this site and you'll see Oilers are always worth less. Even to their supposed fans.

      Well I understand that their cap situation isn’t ideal so they have to move cap around to make a deal for Ullmark work.. but I think what people on here don’t seem to understand more is that in a post like this where say Edmonton acquired $5m in cap for Ullmark, yes they have to move out more cap but it doesn’t have to be in the same trade. Last I checked teams are allowed to make more than 1 trade. And trading Bourgault seems like an awful lot for a goalie that was only good behind a good defence and then choked when his team actually needed him.

      If people wouldn’t be so narrow sighted on here I think things would look a lot different.

      I'm of the belief that a teams cap situation does not change what a players value is anytime other then maybe the day of the trade deadline. I agree, people assuming a team would do nothing else is lazy and dumb. Making assumptions, opinions are fact, and calling players you don't like "cap dumps" is how you win arguments on hockey sites, lol

      That seems more like a bias opinion that anything. Of the 2 deals, Bourgault is by far the most valuable piece. Forgele and Bahl would be close in value. And Gritsyuk is a wildcard, but his value is no where close to Bourgault’s. Oilers pay a lot more.

      Bahl is quite good and I would not compare him to a guy many Oilers fans have been testing like a cap dump. He likely holds similar, if not more, value than Bougault, depending if needs at F and D are the same. Gritsyuk carries risk as an unsigned Russian player, but the upside is enormous. Last year, he was KHL rookie of the year, youngest Russian on Olympic team. This year, he was hurt in early part of season, but rebounded in December to post point-per-game numbers onward. I think for a team focused on long-term:

      Bahl >= Bourgault
      Gritsyuk > Foegele

      Thinking that Bahl is just as valuable as Bourgault is quite hysterical.

      Oh it's certainly not. One is a full time NHLer, the other is a 0.5ppg player in their D+2 season.

      One is likely a future 3rd pair defenceman while the other has top 6 forward potential with scoring upside. The game isn’t all about points.

      Bourgault was a 0.55ppg player as a 20 year old rookie in the AHL. That’s actually a very good season.

      Bourgault >> Bahl
