Hello Uh Is Indiana Jones There

Created by: IDKtbh
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: May 25, 2023
Published: May 26, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I may have gotten a little carried away…

*I understand this is a pie in the sky type scenario.

I know a lot of Detroit fans are eager to make big trades this offseason but, I think we should take advantage of the opportunity to load up the prospect cupboard and make our “big” moves next offseason or as early as this upcoming seasons trade deadline.

The two deadline trades would likely require better prospects going to the respective trade partners, likely 1-2 players taken from the 2023 draft however I think two unprotected 1st rounders, a 2nd & a 3rd going the other way in each deal represents solid framework for the packages. The prospects aren’t bad but only B & C level guys and a bit of a quantity over quality type group in terms of players going the other way in these trades which I understand won’t likely cut it.

2024-25 Projected Cap Space $32m
Extensions:
Moritz Seider 8x$8.5m
Lucas Raymond 8x$7m
Jonatan Berggren 6x$4.5m
Michael Rasmussen 6x$4m

Remaining Cap Room $8m

*Taxi Squad are draft picks in order of selection.

Straight up? I don't recall ever saying that. However, the Blues did flat refuse to include Kyrou in a Tkachuk offer, so I'm not at all sure how you think this is some sick burn. Kinda sounds like proof I'm 100% right.

You have no idea what the Blues offered. They are not going to tell people who they offered after the fact also. If I cared to, I could go find a few examples of you not wanting to do that trade…

Dude. It's been widely reported they would not include Kyrou. It has also been reported the offer revolved around Tarasenko and a 1st. They've repeatedly refused to discuss dealing him over years now, up to and including a few months ago.

Feel free to show me. Pretty sure none of these were straight up offers.

Kinda silly to be debating over what was or was not allegedly offered in a trade that never happened. It’s not like that actual information would ever come to light or be entirely accurate.

Would ever? Heh. Okay, man. I mean, these sorts of things have accurately come to light nonstop over the history of hockey, but sure.

I'm not talking about rumors, I'm talking about reporting. Gosh, nobody tell him about how the Blues almost had Hertl and Meier for Oshie and Shattenkirk...

People typically talk, dude. And yes, there are GMs who don't and who will Tonya Harding any ass under them who does. But there's two GMs in any trade talk. And their staff. And some lady cleaning the office. Etc etc. Not everything gets out, but so much does. And when several different places are reporting the same thing, it's probably correct.

It’s amazing that you choose to believe the crap sandwich package of Tarasenko, Scandella, and a first for Tkachuk that JR reported after the fact. However, when Serevelli said the Blues were shopping Parayko at the deadline, you wouldn’t believe that. Serevelli has been much more right on breaking rumors than JR ever has been….

Bruh. Reporters regurgitating info they were “told” by “sources” are RUMORS.

That doesn’t make what they say true. Only a child will look at reports like that and come away assuming what they read was “fact” or “common knowledge”. It’s literally just hearsay.

You don't understand most of those journalistic terms you use. And many times, these stories have direct quotes from a GM involved after they're gone. Learn to separate rumors and hearsay from actual reporting by actual reporters.

Idk if you’re a football fan or not but;

1.) The Detroit Lions recently signed a player named CJ Gardner-Johnson to a 1 year deal worth $8.5m.

2.) “Reports” stated that he was offered more money & more term to stay with the Philadelphia Eagles.

3.) CJ Gardner-Johnson’s agent came out and said that was not true and the contract he was “reportedly” offered by the Eagles was inflated and his client got the best deal from the Lions.

Numbers 2 & 3 would be referred to as “Hearsay” or “rumors”. Number 1 would be considered “common knowledge”. Do you get it?

I could not care less about football. And simply putting everything in quotation marks isn't the point you think it is. Besides, you think journalists all lie and agents don't? Holy ****, man, that's an unprecedented logic pretzel ya got there.

You’re so diluted you missed the point entirely.

It’s not about deciding who is lying and who isn’t. The point is you don’t know. The fact that you somehow came to the conclusion that I took the side of the agent is baffling when I literally grouped what a reporter said and what an agent said as both hearsay.

Here’s some more quotations for you; I bet you never “lose” an argument amongst your “friends”.

Okay, again, you clearly do not understand what diluted means (I'll assume you meant deluded) or what hearsay means. If the agent says it, it's not hearsay, as he's a directly involved source. There's a great chance what he says is bull****, because agents, but that's not what hearsay is.

Of course, you won't stop trying waaaaaaay too hard to fling "sick burn" personal attacks long enough to accept such glaringly obvious realities. Good luck with all that, man.

Thank you for correcting me. I’m not tryna burn you, I’m simply trying to communicate that what we hear in the media doesn’t make it true or common knowledge, even if comes straight from an agent, or GM’s mouth. That makes it a he said, she said type situation (not hearsay), and we get to form our own opinions based off what they said.
