Another Future 1C idea

Team: 2023-24 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2023
Published: May 26, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This was based off the fact someone else made an ACGM and traded for Cooley, I will here, but I think this proposal is much more realistic than the other one. Arizona will still say no because he is their center of the future and they will want to build around him and not trade him, but its a much better proposal than the other ACGM I saw in my opinion

You think Arizona says no? .. I think Minnesota says no. That’s way too much to give up when Cooley hasn’t even played a game of pro hockey.

Any deal for Cooley would likely be a top prospect swap. It doesn’t make any sense to give up multiple future pieces when you don’t know what he even is at the NHL or even AHL level.

Love the idea of getting Cooley...you think it would cost that much? Even if rumor swirls that he doesn't want to be apart of the AZ dumpster fire...and could stay at the U?

I think that would be giving up a lot...Rossi still has value and I think Addison does too. That being said, I just want to get Cooley!!!!

    Arizona obviously doesn't do that

Cooley is like a top 3 player in the world outside the nhl

Yeah, even if he wants out of Arizona, there are 30 other teams besides Arizona and Minnesota

I think a premium young asset would have to be included. Minny may not have that blue-chipper, but they have loads of dept in their pool.

    Maybe...

    Two of Rossi, Faber, Wallstedt
    One 1st round pick
And whatever dead cap they want to move

This is even less realistic. Habs are prob wishing they picked him #1 at this point, he’s the best prospect in the league

Can’t see why Arizona would make Cooley available at all. He went back to school it’s not like he asked for a trade, this is being blown way out of proportion. Rossi has really struggled and Minny doesn’t seem to love Addison that much. I don’t think there’s enough there to pry Cooley out of Arizona, he’s a legit 1C franchise cornerstone prospect, I don’t see enough to move a guy like in Minnesota

There certainly is 30 other teams, and at this point Cooley holds a lot of leverage….so maybe he loves Minny and wants to win a Naty and Stanley in the state of hockey…and this is page total make believe anyway.

He has no leverage unless he intends to play 3 more years of college hockey

Yes they obviously dont do it, i just saw a different ACGM and their offer for Cooley was laughable so I tried to create a better one, He is most definitely untouchable

Idk how, its not really an underpayment, hell its an overpayment considering he hasn’t played pro hockey at all yet, but i guess i can see where you’re coming from

Old aging defenseman that is mid at best but could take up good bottom pairing minutes if needed

I like Foligno and what he brings, and the price is good too. However, I don't think there's any room for him even if the Sabres do end up moving Olofsson. There's a parade of youngins chomping at the bit for roster spots next season. The top six is pretty much set along with Casey Mittelstadt somewhere in the mid-six. Matthew Savoie is too good to back to the Dub but can't play in the AHL and Jiri Kulich is having a breakout pro season in Rochester at the tender age of 19. Both will have a legit shot for third line duties. Lucas Rousek is almost a given for a 4th line/reserve role and in addition to him, three other youngins will be vying for that same role.
