Description

Unlike last offseason where the Panthers made a splash trade, I expect them to be more quiet this off-season. Only trade I’ve seen so far proposed that I could see happen is for Jeff Carter, but only if Eric Staal retires (or leaves for another team). Would work since it is only for 1 year. Otherwise, just 1 solid LD and mostly depth re-signings.

I would make it a 5th instead of a 4th. Carter gas value but a little less than you've given him.

I think the Pens would rather accept less in a return than eat salary. That said, if the return got much better, they would consider it.

Something like:
Fla 5th for Carter (no retention) + Pens 5th
Or
Fla 3rd for Carter (1.5MM retained) + Pens 6th

Panthers have zero need for Carter. Just resign staal who’s much much better tat this point.

Then. Bring in someone who isn’t 3.5 mil to be useless and slow. We dont need that upgrade. Plenty of cap space to do so this year.
