The Isles are not trading Pelech who is their #1 defenseman and a significantly better team with him in the lineup.

He also has a NTC.

Canes decline. Svech has more value than Marner due to the long term deal, better cap hit, and not a major drop in production. Plus Svech is younger, better shot, etc etc etc
