Could the jets just get a 3rd or the same deal with a younger asset?

Sure he trades a middle 6, 6'6" power forward for an average middle 6 guy with slightly better offensive prowess.

Nah I love colors; love the fall where all of the forests change into a green-red-orange combination. What does this have to do with Ross Colton being much more replaceable?

Why would Killorn take such a discount? I'm pretty sure he'll be looking to get at least $5M for 3-5 years.

He very well could be looking to cash in 1 last time while he can, but hes also stated many times that he wants to stay in Tampa and would have retired if Seattle picked him. JBB could use that as a ploy to get him to take a discount for 1 last run and keep the band together for the most part. Does Killorn value money over staying somewhere his whole career? Just look at all of Tampas big UFAs and how much of a discount they took to stay in Tampa. Stamkos had offers of 10m+ and said no. Palat chased money while he was still in his prime and Tampa didnt make an offer.

Brisebois did reportedly make an offer to Palat's camp, but it wasn't a very good one, so he rightfully cashed in elsewhere. I agree Killorn might be more likely to take a hometown discount, but I don't see the team prioritizing him over Colton. Colton should be able to match(or come very close) to what Killorn brought offensively once he gets a consistent top 6 role. If Tampa was looking to move Colton and Detroit was interested, Rasmussen 1 for 1 would be one of the few options I've seen that works for Tampa. Most of the garbage offers of 2nd+3rd in '24, Zadina+3rd or Veleno+2nd Brisebois would have to do his best not laugh at.

My issue with Colton is he was stuck to Paul's hip for roughly 80% of the season and Cooper refused to play either of them in the top 6. Even with Killorn gone, i have a feeling we are gonna see the return of Colton-Paul-Jeannot in some fashion with a guy like BB, Goncalves, or even some FA signing getting a shot on the 2nd line before Colton

Well then Cooper is stupid(not that I haven't had that opinion of his line combos many times before). It should be Colton-Paul-Stamkos initially to see if the Paul-Stamkos combo can find the magic they had initially this season. I think Cirelli is an integral piece of the team, but breaking up the Killorn-Paul-Stamkos line when Cirelli came back bc they had to jam Cirelli at 2C was one of the biggest mistakes made in several years. The Killorn-Paul-Stamkos line was one of the top 3 in the league before they were broken up, and Paul's game floundered the rest of the year. I would start the year with
    Hagel-Point-Kuch
    Colton-Paul-Stamkos
    ABB/Goncalves/Balcers-Cirelli-Jeannit/Eyssimont
    Maroon-Eyssimont/4C acquisition-Jeannot/Eyssimont
I think Paul has the offensive upside to work as the 2C, as it was clearly working the first 2 months of this past season.
