It seems strange to me but why would someone trade all their picks away for some player/players that are not good?

Minten and Krebs would be similar value.

1st and 2nd round picks are about equal value but this draft is a lot deeper so the picks in this proposal carry more value than the ones in the Eichel deal.

And Tuch wasn’t who he is now when he was traded. Yes he was still worth more than Villeneuve, but with the difference in value in the picks it’s pretty damn close to the same value as Eichel.

Like Crouse, but Leafs shouldn't be trading good young assets. For 4.3m you can find a LWer almost a s good. Seems foolish to trade 20 goal Jarnkrok

Missed the playoff 9 of the last ten years and the organizational plan is to play in a college arena and lose for the next 5 years. Their best player wants out. Their best prospect isn’t signing. Their owner is up on charges. Arizona doesn’t do much right and I’m not sure when losing for 15 years and accumulating picks made any GM a genius. Any idiot can do that.

How’s it crazy when everyone knows it’s a deeper draft? So this years picks are obviously worth more than the 2022 picks that Buffalo got.. not crazy at all.

I agreed that Tuch was more valuable than Villeneuve. But what I was saying was that since the picks this year are more valuable than last years, it helps lessen the gap. When Tuch was traded he wasn’t extremely valuable. He was good, but he wasn’t anywhere near what he is now.

Krebs and Minten were both prospects. Krebs never had more than 68 points in a season and Minten never had more than 67 points in a season. Krebs had one year where he had 60 points in 38 games so you can give the offensive edge to him, but Minten is far superior defensively at the same stage than Krebs was. So they’d have about equal value.

Not sure where you’re seeing the “crazy evaluations” at here and that doesn’t matter what team you’re a fan of. Just know the players and the value of picks.

Tuch >> Villeneuve
Krebs > Minten
1st = 1st
2nd = 2nd

Tuch and Villeneuve are not even close. It’s insane how much you are downplaying Tuch.

Boston’s 1st is not more valuable than the 1st in the Eichel deal. That pick was #16 and Boston’s pick this year is #28. If anything, it’s a draw. I would rather have the #16 pick.

Krebs and Minten are a wash now, but at the time of the trade Krebs was a highly valued prospect. I don’t get that sense about Minten.
