Pretty sure the Hawks don't accept. Trading with Toronto for Murray gets the Hawks another 1st round pick for a player with less term. They have two NHL ready goalies in Rockford and Mrazek already under contract so unless they're convincing some of them to play other positions, the chances of this happening aren't so good.

That is a super easy no from the Hawks. If they are spending 10-11 million dollars and using 8-10 million in cap space, it will be for more than a late 2nd and late 3rd.

Montreal accepts this as much as LA accepts Clarke for Harris!

Nobody's taking on Murray to play him; they're taking him on to buy him out.

They're not spending 10 to 11 million dollars or using 8 to 10 million in cap space, they're spending $4 million on compensation and $687.500 in cap space the first year, $2 million the second.

You aren't getting Murray and a 1st lol. Murray buyout gives them 2M more cap.

If the Hawks do make a trade for Peterson, they won't want two more '23 picks. They'll want a '24 and a '25 pick in all likelihood.

uhhh....the proposed trade is for '23 picks meaning the Hawks get to pay the 4 million bonus this Summer and will be in 5 million deep just this season on salary and the cap hit is 5 before getting into if they consider buying him out next Summer. Are you thinking the Hawks buy him out immediately and drag his cap hit out for 4 seasons?

Sorry, we are talking at cross purposes. JK74 mentioned taking on Matt Murray and having three goalies and things just degenerated from there. It wasn't until this comment that I realized I was talking about Matt Murray and you were talking about the trade here in the ACGM. Never mind!
