Hawks decline. The general consensus from both sides is that it'll take a 2nd to dump Bailey's contract.

Los Angeles declines. Salo is your third-best LhD prospect (and by "prospect" I mean developing depth defenseman) behind Aho and Bolduc. We'd want your 2023 second and a third if Salo were all you had to offer.

It feels like a 2nd was the concensus a month ago...now NYI fans are trying to squeeze every penny. Like ok...a 2nd was accepted...now will this get accepted?

Interesting CBJ trade...JGPG is kind of an expensive middle-6 option, where CBJ need just better players overall. Aho is interesting, but he seems like more of a 2nd-3rd pair D-man when we're probably looking for more of a 1st-2nd pair D-man.

I don't know if the sum of those parts is equal to the LAK 1st, which could be used to land a higher-quality player (by draft or trade). It's a good starting point, but CBJ decline on value. Maybe the 2023 2nd and 2023 CGY 3rd for those two instead?

Honestly I wouldn’t, I’d probably stay away from the JGP contract right now, 5 mil for a 3rd line center for 3 more years seems like it won’t end well when we are trying to get contracts with players like Sillinger, Johnson, Marchenko and others completed before it comes off the books. We also already have Jenner and Karuly as solid 3/4 center options.

Hawks decline. The only reason Hawks entertain a Bailey trade is to get a '24 2nd. No 2nd, no deal.

Josh Bailey is easily bought out, and the Islanders don't need $5m in cap. They will not be sending out draft picks to get rid of him.
