Don't think I would do that trade, I don't think it's worth it especially giving up the first. You are accurate though in what it would probably cost, just don't think its wise for us

The only reason I'm hesitant is because of the cap space. But I'd easily trade 14th for two players that are young and can help us right now

Our defense was awful defensively and with coverage last year. Not a good idea to trade away our best defensive defenseman and a 1st for Chabot as a replacement. Debrincat is younger and has more value, but he barely had more points than Rakell last year. We're creating a new need on defense and just swapping Rakell for Debrincat, while also losing Jake. To me that trade doesn't really make the team better and it costs us a 1st. I don't think it makes sense for either team

Detroit would have liked the pick to be this year but since that isn't possible...
