Calgary has 7 big UFA's after this season. We will be hard pressed to add more players we will lose for nothing at the end of the year. It could work if Calgary moves at least 2 of Lindholm, Toffoli, Hanifin and Backlund for future assets. Otherwise we don't have the cap-space.

He also has had multiple injuries over the years which has me questioning if he's going to be worth any more then what I want to give him. Also can't see him returning to Boston since they will be losing their star players and their cap situation. Also, I want a source on that Detroit deal

I agree. I still think it would be difficult for CGY to re-sign him, but I could see them going for it if they manage to trade 2 other players, and free up the cap-space. I think it's more likely that CGY trades a player back for Nylander. A deal around one of Lindholm, Toffoli, or Hanifin balanced in a way that makes both teams happy is the way to go.

Since the Nylander doesn't happen, the Leafs keep Nylander, their two draft picks, instead of Konekcy.
