Detroit passes, jake Guentzel will be turning 29 years old, Right around the time 2023/2024 NHL season starts. Yzerman would be targeting young core players to fit with our younger core. Not someone who's 2 years older than Larkin.

Don't think the Canucks would trade a 1st and Beauvillier for 2 years of Pettersson. If they trade for Pettersson, it would likely be a hockey trade with Boeser or Garland + something minor. Pettersson has very little team control

I don't know, Guentzel is the right type of player we need. If his contract is negotiated ahead of the trade, and is at roughly the same money as it is now, we would get a point per game player in our weakest spot for 4-5 years and that is worth the asking price.

Ideally, he would be five years younger but then the price to get him wouldn't be what it's here...
