You don’t get one of the best wingers in the league for 2 late 1sts, an early 2nd, and scraps. Especially from a team that’s not rebuilding

Offering the house for Marner then putting him on a line with Staal and Noesen is crazy

It's a good thing it's only Marner then.

Who is one of the best wingers in the league and instantly becomes Carolina’s best player

Go for it. pehaps you should try to understand that the Selke is given to offensive players that don't embarrass themselves defensively and not the actual best defensive forwards, and that playing next to auston Matthews will inflate his point totals... maybe that's difficult to understand though, I get that

He’s far better offensively than anyone on Carolina, and he’s better defensively than all their forwards. He would easily be Carolina’s best player, and even the biggest Canes homer like yourself should be able to admit that

Marner also has one of the higher xGA among forwards, and one of the worse xG differentials among those nominated for the Selke, per Natural Stat Trick

Soucy will easily command 4mil AAV in free agency.

Canes would never sign Tarasenko.

This is a horrible trade for the leafs. It’s actually embarrassing. To get marner you have to give more than a bag of pucks and some picks to a team that wants to win now.

Leaving aside the Argument about how good Mitch is (I’m firmly in the camp that he immediately becomes the hurricanes best player) ; there is literally NO chance the Leafs trade him for futures, smh. Like, come on man 🤦🏻
