Calgary will keep the 200 foot cheaper player, who only had 2 less points this year

Jets shouldn't be adding a 3rd to that Habs trade, shouldn't be adding anything if that's the best they can get for that clown.

Flames decline and that's lateral move anyway.

Would take more/better then moving down a round to dump Schmidt.

The Sabres trade is fair imo.

I like Namestnikov but thats a crazy contract to give him.

Barron should be under a million, he's a 4th liner.

I'm not sure about Bunting, the Jets don't have the offensive talent to surround him with and that's if he'd even sign.

That defense looks so much better then it did this season.

Really??! I'd think it'd cost the Jets something better to dump Schmidt.

Habs would be willing to pay that price for sure - However, I'd switch Mesar for another equal prospect or FLA 1st (I want to keep the slovaks boys together).

Now, will the jet accept this? Doubt it. especially in light of the recent reports on the asking price being Suzuki or Dach +.

I think they would probably accept it, being that it is a deep draft this year. I personally dont want Suzuki or Dach, so I never include those guys. Jets would pull back the 3rd round pick though.

Schmidt’s play really rebounded this year, and CBJ need a stop-gap mid-pair LD until Mateychuk is ready. If he can be even half as effective, it’d still be a huge boost for CBJ’s blue-line.

Sure, his cap hit might not be great, but CBJ have space, and I think Schmidt’s just as effective as a number of more expensive options on the market for CBJ. For the cost of a mid-round pick-swap, I think it’s worth it.

That's a very reasonable ask for Dubois, but still a no if I'm GMKH. MTL isn't one or two players away from contention, they have like 5-6 holes to fill and need to tank for another season or two. Can't WPG find another trade partner for PLD, like the Kings? Bergevin was reportedly very high on him.

I am sure most teams would offer something up for him. Picking Montreal is just easy because every comes on here and says the same thing. We all know he is going to Montreal so we don't want him. Just trying to limit the annoying responses a bit.

I disagree here! That could be a good deal for the Flames. It depends on if you think Scheifele will have a better chemistry with Huberdeau (I do). Another factor would be a player's willingness to re-sign.

PS: Scheifele has been at or over a PPG in 5 of his last 6 seasons. Lindholm has been very up and down offensively (he only hit that mark once).
