Habs have 8 d men on the roster. Girard is not needed especially at that price. Hed essentially have to be free to make it worth it

Woah there bud. Girard is a great LHD that would fit MTL possession and speed playstyle that MSL is trying to input. He is on Par with Matheson... and boy do we need players like that.

If Val doesn't come back, I don't hate this team. Don't think Habs do the deal, though. The only other problem is that you're probably too cheap on ERod, Barbashev, and Compher. Some projections have ERod at $3.7M. I want to keep him, but not for that much.

That price... any chance you do have to get a TOP4 D at a cost of 2 low roster guy +2nd... you jump on it and fix the issue later.

Why would we pick Girard who is Deangelo but left handed over Matheson who is playing like an actual #2 d man on both ends of the ice, The Habs do not need a left handed d man unless they are better than Matheson, Guhle or Hutson. Which Girard is not

He stinks defensively. Actual liability in his own end. Hes a defenseman so id like them to be at least average defensively and for as such offensive defenseman, he stinks on the PP as well.

Matheson, Guhle, Harris, Xhekaj all LHD that can play the right side. Barron, Savard, Kovacevic, Wideman all RHD NHL level D men. Even if you subtract Eddy we still have too many LHD that can play the right side who are equal or better than Girard and we still may end up having to move one of them, so making a move to acquire another LHD makes 0 sense for the Habs

Basically, Girard is what we moved when we decided to move on from Mete IMO

If COL moves Girard it will be for a 2C not a 4 C a prospect and a 2nd. I like Evans but not that much.

I agree... Dvorak was supposed to be a good 2C that he never been in MTL but he was in Az... maybe somewhere else.
But at 3C- a lot of team has 4-5M$ player at 3C and Compher will cost the same (+/-)
