The odds of getting 14th overall would be much greater and more realistic if you took Granlund and sent back the TBL 1st. You may not like it, but it’s the truth. The Pens would likely buyout Granlund before dropping from 14th to 28th just to move him.

Pens don't need to decline. Garak already offered the package you have ticketed for Vancouver for Granny & 14. Granted, he may have had a few beers in him and by his own admission was feeling generous, but no take backs. smile

I'm hopeful the Hawks could do better than this, but ultimatley if this is what it is...I guess.

NYI, sounds good to me.
TOR, would prefer the NYR 2nd, but that's really just a homer comment. Those are minor details. I like the overall theme of the TOR trade.
PIT, It's a big jump up...#28 - #14. Still $11M owed to Granlund though.

The VAN trade is just no good imo. For a few reasons.
A.) TMyers is owed a $5M bonus. Maybe Hawks management saw the ticket sales from the #1 OA and told KD that he can spend that cash, but I have to think VAN has $5M too. If VAN does, which they do, then they could get a team like AZ to take on TMyers cap it for only $1M. Seems like an AZ special to be honest and something VAN should do rather than trade him away. All depends on the Money I guess.
B.) Garland is a change of scenery player. the Hawks certainly aren't paying FOR his Servies. if VAN wants to pay in order to drop him, we'll think about it.
C.) Per one of the most aggressive charts to move up in the draft. (Link below). The Hawks are WAY overpaying for the #11 pick. That VAN 2024 2nd rounder will be a better pick that CHI's 2024 pick. We should keep it. OR If you factor in the dumps...Drop the TBL 1st, then they can have their 2024 2nd back.

That VAN trade is brutal for the Hawks. Hawks giving up either 2nd round pick is totally unnecessary if they are taking Myers and Garland (or Boeser) off of the Knucks hands. Taking those kind of cap dumps and swapping out the 1st from Tampa for the Knucks is enough to justify the jump.

You would need to move the Vancouver 2nd round pick out of the Vancouver trade and give it to Pitts in the Granlund trade. Overpaying in the Vancouver deal by at least a 2nd and under paying in the Pitts deal.

I can live with the Vancouver trade for the 2 Tampa picks if Myers is a player to be named later after his bonus is paid. The 2 Tampa picks for #11 are right on value according to the pick value charts. Garland and bonus paid Myers are close enough to neutral value that I take them to make the deal happen.

Something to remember regarding these draft pick trades is that other teams, DET with #17 and 3 2nds, and STL with 2 late 1sts also have the draft pick capital to move up. So a VAN or PIT may be in the position to take the best of 3 offers for 11or 14. Acquiring either pick may require an overpay.
