Sorry that's more than what Ottawa paid, That's an equivalent of 1st and 2 2nds. Way more enough for Cat. And both fan bases said it was a fair offer.

The prospect needs to be better the pieces are there. I would rate Hanas as a 3rd at best.

It’s probably close. Hanas looks like another Greig type of player maybe just a step below. And if the Sens flip 17th and something small could probably get Hart

Even so, It's still the equivalent of what Ottawa gave up for him, At this point he's a one year rental. And we hope we can extend him if he definitely wants to sign with his childhood team.

Sens are better off keeping DeBrincat until TDL if this is the best teams around the league are offering for trade.

I mean this is insane haha he's a 25 year old RFA that has scored 40 and 30 goals in the league.

They traded a #7 overall for him...this offer is pathetic. And then has the audacity to pay him $8.5M a year lol

Do you think 7OA in 2022 is the same as 7OA in 2023?
They paid that much for a contract that will be about 2 mil less in AAV. Not to mention, he recessed this year.

Sorry but those scraps don’t get you DeBrincat.

And no chance Debrincat extends long term in a dump like Detroit laugh laugh .

He wants to go to a contender like New Jersey

Huh? The offer here is a middling prospect (at best), a late first and a 2nd. There is no value here.

But yes, a top 10 overall pick is WAY different than closer to 20...like night and day different.

Like Korchinski D0 is worse than Dragicevic's, and he's projected to go later AND is at a more premium position. I don't think 7OA is equivalent to like 25 but I sure as hell don't think it's that different from 17 this year.

Ya, why does OTT do that? The odds of a 17OA pick being a 40 goal scorer in the league is almost 0...

It's hugely different. Huge.

Again, the question is WHY would OTT do that? They will almost certainly get a better offer.

Why draft at all? I think Detroit should trade 9OA for Jamie Benn. The odds of 9OA being an Art Ross winner is almost 0.

Then let them take that offer lol. This is as much as I hope Detroit is willing to pay, so if a team pays more good for Ottawa lol.

That dude is delusional, 2023 17OA > 2022 7OA Love how he said the pick is late 17OA+43OA+Cross Hanas is a solid offer for a one year RFA in DeBrincat it's more than what Ottawa paid for 2 years of Cat. Compared to the 2022 NHL draft the 2023 draft blows it away by a country mile.

That's called a straw man argument - doesn't work. Also just simply not true.

What you hope they're willing to pay and what OTT would accept are two different things. This offer is a joke.

laugh laugh That offer for DeBrincat is easily beaten.

laugh laugh You're at least $1,000,000 short on Gudas

Also Cam Talbot is aging and wants to win in the near future, so he's not signing in Detroit.

Yeah after the top 6 of like Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Smith, Michkov and Benson, I do think there’s a drop off
