The Kings would be willing to pay a 2nd to dump Petersen's contract, but the last thing they need is another high priced winger.

That Blues trade is nonsense- A 1st round pick and a cheap guy who played well for us for an older winger that's more expensive, and signed longer, and didn't play at all last year? Why would they do that? That's not worth it just to dump Scandella's contract.

I don't see how the Flyers can actually demand anything for Atkinson until he gets back into the lineup and shows he can still be a difference maker. Even then, don't see how St. Louis is a match given they're in a retool.

There isn’t a single trade here that isn’t wildly terrible for the Flyers or the other team. Most of them are horrible for the Flyers and then a few the Flyers just completely fleece the other team somehow. You also gave out horrible deals to the RFAs. Frost is probably going to get half of that and York and Cates will probably get double.

Detroit doesn't need a bigot LHD in Ivan Provorov, And we sure as hell aren't dealing Cossa for Hart. Hart would mentor Cossa and our 9th overall isn't available for either player.

That Blues trade is something lol.

Would love to hear the justification. Because as of right now I’m not sure I move Vrana and Scandella for Atkinson and a 2nd.

Once again, trades constructed by thinking about (1) what player(s) I want to get rid of, (2) what similar player(s) and/or valuable draft pick(s) can I replace him/them with, and (3) what team has those assets, without any consideration for the other team's situation. I know without question that that's how the Kings trade was conceived, because Los Angeles has a surplus of forwards and a dearth of cap space -- so what did you do? You traded us an expensive forward in a cap-negative transaction (although by only half a million dollars).

Woah nelly this is quite the scenario. I'm just gonna say that most teams involved with this just flat out deny all of it. Here's a few points I can think of on this mind boggle of a post.

1.) Flyers aren't gonna dump Laughton for a 3rd, the team loves him too much, and value him more than that.
2.) Wings aren't gonna want to get rid of Cossa. He still has time to prove himself.
3.) Blues aren't going to trade Vrana and Scandella just to get an older player who didn't play for a year. Atkinson is gonna play again, but the Blues will go elsewhere if they need a new wing as it would be safer.
4.) Coots will not waive his NMC, and the Caps aren't gonna trade for a guy who will play again, but has missed over a year and a half of play, and most likely will not be the same value he had before the injury.
5.) Avs are not getting rid of Newhook for a 31 year old player, they're gonna need a lot more to send Newhook off.
6.) Dallas does need to improve their RHD, but a pure offensive d-man is not what they need.
7.) Lastly the Kings, I don't know them well enough, except that they have a rough cap right now and while they would love to dump Petersen, Petersen will most certainly put Philly on his 10 team no trade list, because why leave a playoff team like the Kings to go to a rebuilding team?

TLDR In the end, this will not work for pretty much everyone.

Blues are trying to get younger not older, so there is zero need for Atkinson

Agree that Detroit doesn’t need LHD, but asking out of ignorance, what makes him a bigot? Did i miss something?
