I usually dont watch a lot of Columbus games and with his injury I havent seen Werenski play in a long time so I might be underestimating him, im counting on BJ fans to enlighten me. Overall I think him and suzuki are about equal, but Suz is younger and cheaper.

I might be overrating him, but I think Cam York will be a number 1 defensemen, possibly top 10 - 15.

Noah Cates is already a near perfect 3rd line center at only 24 years of age.

And a 1rst is a 1rst. Seems like a complete package to me

I really like York and Cates but I think ur slightly over valuing York. I think he will be a high end 2nd pairing guy. Overall that trade feels solid because u get a lot and the flyers also get a big need.

Avs decline easily. Avs need a centre. Dach isn't a centre. No way the tops deal a top4 dman for a winger.

Honestly I think he's right here. York has all the tools to become a #1 defenseman for us. I mean he's easily already our best defenseman while playing 1st pair on his off side, the only thing with him is if he can get his offense popping (which definitely will happen this upcoming season if they can play him on his strong side with a decent partner). He's also a genuinely elite skater (in terms of edges).

His analytics also think he's the second coming of Bobby Orr so that helps too I guess

Dach played is best hockey at C this season, and at 3.362 for the next 3 years thats really good value for a lower end 2c who could develop in a 1c.

His progression curve in one season is actually insane, and if he keeps improving like he did last season he could end up as a high end 2c at the end of next season.

Dach ISN'T a 2C right now. 18 poiints 5 on 5 putting him equal to Matt Martin. He's a 3C powerplay specialist with room to grow into a 2C

Played his best hockey at C? Dude was 6th on the habs in face-offs taken. Monahan and Drouin took more in less or equal games. Heck even some guy named Alex Belzile only took 22 face-offs less than Dach, and he played in 27 less games. Not to mention Dach was a pathetic 38.3% on face-offs, which ranks 4th lowest in the league among players who took at least 225 face-offs (out of 167 players).

And if he could end up a high end 2C like you claim (or even develop into a 1C like you claim), why would the Habs trade him? Answer, they wouldn't trade him.

If Dach is your "centre" piece for Byram, 30 other teams outbid you.
