You're joking...right

You're getting the better player, a first and getting rid of enough cap that you can easily resign Nylander. All while Toronto gets two aging injured 30+ players well out of their primes

Wilson is a unique player, the only way the capitals entertain a trade like this is if they are getting back Marner or Knies. They do not have the cap space to take the dump that is murray and the first is in the 20's so its not crazy valuable, everyone seems to think any first in this year is worth much more than they truly are. I would say your high value stuff is anything inside the top ten picks.

So Marner or Knies, the first and a prospect might get the capitals to say okay to a Wilson trade.

Not to mention how much Oshie means to the group in the locker-room.

Did Biden legalize meth or something because that might be one of the most insane value of players I have ever heard

Caps would pass. I am not sure if they would trade Wilson for Nylander 1 for 1 (whether they should is another conversation).

Caps will already be tight against the cap and while Osh is declining Murray is useless and costs more.

Would love to trade for Nylander but cant see Wilson being part of the deal.

He did actually, he is good at being a brain dead puppet. But honestly the reason it is so high is because the caps don't want to give him up and he wants to stay with the organization. If someone wants to criminally overpay for him that is the only way I see the caps ever moving him.

The Caps would be trading their two most popular players (after Ovie of course) in the same deal, guys who are absolutely beloved in the locker room and who've set down roots in the community and expressed their desire to retire here. Regardless of what you think about the value, teams just don't make trades like this. Well, Vegas probably would, but most others wouldn't.

Neither of those players are worth Boston's 1st alone.

You're right, it would cost more than a 1st to get Wilson.

This is criminally over paying. Wilson will be lucky to ever crack 40 points again and Oshie has never even played a full season and at 36 years old likely never will again. Truth is Washington will likely be selling those two off 50% retained and likely not even getting 1sts for them.

Let alone in this deal getting a 1st and a top line player entering his prime

Teams literally do it every year at the trade deadline. It's called doing what's best for your team

My man, its not just the player and the 1st. They are getting rid of guys that bring the team together. Beloved players by fans and the team. They would not let that go for a mediocre upgrade, what Nylander is one year younger. You would be trading a goal scoring power forward that there is only one of in the league and the fans second or third favorite player in Oshie for a guy that every team in the league has, I would rather have Clayton Keller over Nylander and it wouldn't hurt the team nearly as much.

If this deal is so bad for the leafs then don't do it. This is a god awful move for the caps.

We don't want your cap dump in Matt Murray and the caps aren't moving Wilson or Oshie. You want Wilson? Start with Knies. You want Oshie? That sucks, he's not moving.

lol the 28th overall pick for Tom Wilson would be a an absolute steal for Toronto. Put the pipe down.

They already made that mistake with Foligno a couple years ago, don't think they make it again

Yes it's always a god awful for a team to get the younger ppg player while also getting rid of often injured players who can barely play a top 6 role in the league anymore

It's so funny that Wilson suddenly worth 0 when he's being traded for in every other ACGM. The caps aren't moving him. We don't need the 28th pick in this draft and a complete cap dump for two core players.

You're conveniently leaving out that you're also getting a player that has as many points in the last two seasons as Oshie and Wilson have combined in the last two seasons. Washington would have to add 8th overall for Toronto to even pick up the phone on this offer

Don't even think Washington even has valuable enough assets in the whole organization to get Mathews as a rental

When I saw the headline, I thought wow WSH & Nylander is a great match, nice job. The trade however; simply doesn’t make any sense whatsoever for the Capitals. They get worse, lose two integral players and again, do not improve.
