Marner would run into the same problems Barzal does in NY, and then he would leave in two years. Also I’m not sure Isles fans are convinced Marner is the better player, but instead believe he just has way better talent around him.

Robertson's unfortunate injury history makes him worth far less than a second-round draft pick. And that's entirely aside from considering all of the young LW players and prospects we have in the pipeline already.

Marner is not being moved and either is Barzal.

I'm not trading Barzal locked in at 8 years for Marner 2 years from UFA. Marner is a better all around player but he is also benefiting from the cast of guys he plays with. No deal.

Barzal’s been negatively impacted by a coaching staff that won’t put him out in the last minute…. But then they put our Anders Lee. Any difference in production between the two can be pretty easily explained tbh.

Marner >> Barzal. He isn’t getting moved, but Literally no chance Leafs would trade him straight up for Barzal (or anyone else on the Isles) 🤦🏻.
