Why would Arizona make that move? Hayton is better than newhook, jenik is better than olausson, and räty is worth more as a lottery ticket than macdermid. Terrible trade

Ah yes, I've seen some smelly takes before, but your take is by far the smelliest.

I’d love to hear how that take is even remotely incorrect. Newhook can’t stick on Colorado’s 2nd line, while hayton elevated Arizona’s top line into the top 25 lines league wide for xG% and played at a 65 point pace. Olausson has worse numbers in every league he’s played in than Jenik.

Gladly. Newhook didn't get much if any time centering the 2nd line. He was tossed around the 3rd and 4th lines until Beds finally stuck him at 3c and was thrilled with his play. Still no top 6 minutes or linemates. I will take your word for what you say about Hayton's stats and (chuckles) Arizona having a top 30 line in the league. Hayton played top line minutes or at least top 6 and pp. frik his per game pace, dude only put up 19 goals and 43 points with that kind of opportunity. Newhook got 14 g and 30 points being tossed around in the bottom 6 with no pp1 time. Why the eff would the Avs trade a guy they like in Newhook and add a recent 1st for someone who isn't even clearly better, he is just used more. If Newhook got time with Lehky and Rants like the plan was, he could outscore Hayton. I like B.H, don't get me wrong, but he is not worth what the ACGM is asking.
As for O.O and Jenik. Jenik needs a deal, has to go through waivers, is older and only got 7 goals last season. I would rather keep O.O who scored more(double the games), is younger and has 2 years left on his elc. O.O fills an nhl need down the road where as Jenik is probably just ahl depth for his career

There are a lot better trades to be made for the Avs IF they were to move em

Edit: I should say I do agree with you it is a terrible trade. I just think if the Yotes got offered this, they would take it and run
