Trades
1.
TOR
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Pittsburgh moves on from Jarry. Dubas might trade for a goalie that he took a chance on the year prior
PIT
  1. Samsonov, Ilya [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
I feel like he is going to have a higher ask than the Leafs will be willing to afford or want to pay so I feel like the Leafs are going to prioritize a true Elite goalie.
2.
TOR
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (FLA)
ARI
  1. Murray, Matt
  2. 2023 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Cap Dump. If Murray is healthy enough to not be LTIR'd then the Leafs move on and Treliving goes after the true #1
3.
TOR
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (ANA)
  2. 2024 5th round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
Anaheim needs defense badly!
ANA
  1. Brodie, TJ
  2. Hollowell, Mac [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Treliving tried trading TJ once and I can see him moving on from him again in a roster shuffle
4.
TOR
  1. Saros, Juuse
Additional Details:
Nashville is going full rebuild under Trotz as soon as Poile retires and Poile is going to seek the most amount of draft capital possible to put Trotz in prime position for that. Askarov gets his NHL reps for him to develop and Nashville sign a vet goalie to play tandem with him.
NSH
  1. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (ANA)
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Leafs go after their elite goalie and Saros makes sense tbh? past 2 seasons he's played 60+ gms and still maintains an almost .920SV% but the Leafs are also planning to play Woll more in the coming season so they can load manage Saros better. Saros is playing for his big payday so after the two years he most likely will leave Toronto to grab his bag but if the Leafs don't at least make a cup final in the next 2 seasons they will rebuild but by then Woll should be primed to be the #1 in Toronto at a forgiving cap hit and then Hildeby should be primed to make the jump into the NHL so it works time wise
5.
TOR
  1. Pesce, Brett
Additional Details:
No Scope to this at all only thing that maybe why the Leafs would target him is because his familiarity with Dean Chynoweth. Pesce has always been in the Leafs rumor mills for a very long time. his expiring contract is a problem and could be a high-value rental but Pesce is playing for a payday. he is only 28 and still has a lot of time left in the league so he is playing for a bag of cash and I can see Carolina building a high-powered offensive blue line after the result of their Conference Finals defeat at the hands of Florida and I can see them going after a Dumba or a Klingberg to help with their blueline production and with Brind Amour as a coach he will turn them into gold in a year's time.
CAR
  1. Hirvonen, Roni
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (PIT)
  3. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
I have no clue how much a Pesce would cost to acquire. So any Canes fans who sees this please feel free to msg what you think his price is because I will probably agree with it.

I highly doubt Anaheim is spending a 2nd on a rental

That Pesce offer is as bad as the AGM title is excellent. I doubt he's available.

Correction: I highly doubt Anaheim is spending a 2nd on a rental whose actual compensation is 150% of his cap hit, which isn't small potatoes.

Canes aren’t moving Pesce. That package isn’t getting Saros. Don’t know why Pens are overpaying for Samsonov. Not sure why Anaheim does that. Sure they need defense, but Brodie definitely isn’t the answer.

Yes, we need defense, but we need guys with term, not pending UFAs on the tail end of their career, and not a 5'9" prospect.

Brodie's real salary due is also 7.5 million next season. Frankly, at 5 million cap hit and 7.5 real salary, the pick would have to be coming with him in order to interest us.

“Ducks need defense!”

Proceeds to send them a rental who only played 58 games last year for a premium draft pick

Pass on the saros trade. That would be beat in my opinion and if not I’d rather keep him. A saros deal would have to woah trotz and this isn’t it
