Yea I don't think the trade is horrible with the Ducks but just don't think they would accept, they aren't going to contend (even for a playoff spot) for a year or two so why give up a younger big centerman for a scoring winger. Nylander is a good player not taking anything away just the timeline and position value don't seem to match.

Hoping to ward off nonsense offers like this, a week ago I said several times that it seems like half the Toronto fanbase is constructing trades using the following thought "process": (1) what high-cap All-Star player(s) with one or two seasons left on their contract do I want to trade, and (2) what players and draft picks would I like to get for them, without any regard for the other team's roster needs or cap situation.

It didn't work.
