I’m down for that trade as a Chicago fan, but it doesn’t seem like a realistic or appropriate use of a 2024 first round pick.

Garbage late picks don't get Crouse and Keller. Offer isn't even close for both players.

Basically the Mrazek trade again.

And I think an early 2nd in this years draft may be more valuable than a late first in 2024.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree, and the offer does likely remain low.

But this is the deepest draft in years, and likely will be for a while. Arizona is also going to be pressured to move them, as any quality NHL player will refuse to play at ASU.

I'm not down for that deal... pick in the same round, or no deal from my perspective... Hawks will want to trade that pick up in this draft. Might do the NYR 2nd though.

Picks are 27th and 28th overall, Detroit could give up the 9th and 17th for Keller and not even bat an eyelash. No way Arizona accepts that offer.

That's what moving a $10.9M cap hit looks like.

I did, you have the 2023 Ottawa 2nd for Murray and the Leafs 2024 1st... if the Hawks are trading that early of a pick they will want a better 2023 pick. They might consider the NRY 2023 2nd, and take the 2024 1st...

We have a ton of 2nd round picks so I’m not AS concerned about what round or position the exact pick we are giving up is. Sure I would love to give up the NYR or Tampa pick, but I also believe in spreading out the picks and a 2024 1st > our 62nd 2023 2nd:

Yes one of the later 2nd rd picks, I would agree with, but not the top 2, unless it's in this draft.

The position of the 2nd would likely depend on when in the draft the trade occurs. Basically it’s a game of timing and who blinks first. I would be happy as long as it’s not our 2nd.

The fact that Arizona will be pressured to move Keller and Crouse doesn't mean that they'll have to sell them at below-market prices. SOME team will be happy to offer more than a first and a second for Keller, and another team will be thrilled to offer more than a first for Crouse with retention.

No, but Marner's value undeniably takes a dip due to his cap hit.

One is overpaid, the other underpaid.

Marner is one of the top players in the league. A 26 year old 100 point Selke finalist.
