Oilers seem to be selling high on Nuge and I've seen a lot of mocks surrounding a Pesce trade (Idrk why but canes fans seem to like trading him). Canes get a 2c at 5 mil and the Oilers get a RD to play with Nurse at affordable price. Pesce is worth more but also signed for less so Canes throw in a 3rd and the oilers immediately sign him. This is a Kawhi like trade for Edmonton, yeah it hurts to lose Nuge but he was a no-show in the playoffs and Pesce completes the goal of re-working that d-core.

Just and FYI, it's not Canes fans that keep trading Pesce

click on a few of the profiles, and see what teams they follow (usually some other Franchise)

That aside, Nudge probably has some ridiculous value right now

I like the idea of getting Debrusk but that's a substantial price to pay for someone who had an outlier season on a stacked Bruins team. I dont like the Pesce trade, Nuge is worth more to this team than Pesce would ever be.

Playing with Drai and on that PP pushes his point totals. He’s a proven 60-65 point guy. Anyone trading for him and expecting to duplicate last year will be in a world of regret.

Quotes Debrusk having an outlier season and shouldn't be overpaying for him, then says Nuge who had an outlier season is worth more than Pesce would ever be, pot meet kettle.

Nuge is not going to replicate 100 point seasons unless he wings Drai and McD on the PP, trade him to address the defensive weakness, because the Oil are stuck with Campbell for a while, so, give him some help back there.

Yeah Canes pass. Pesce won’t be going anywhere. Nuge is a great player, but he likely reverts to at best his 60 point self. The only reason he even hit the 100 point mark was because of McDavid and Draisaitl, as well as an unreal power play.

I dunno, he had 27 goals in 68 games a few years ago and and then 27 in 64 games this season. Obviously, he had the horrendous 2020-21 and first half of 2021-22 which throws off all his averages so its hard to say what is what... but if you take that stretch out (which I admit might be dubious) this wasn't out of the norm.

A 1st only, Boston declines. Adding Bourgault makes it into a yes, although they would immediately try to get rid of Kailer.
