Washington is closer to a rebuild then they are another cup, keep the 2023 first as that pick could be somebody like Dvorsky.

Also, Scheif fell off a cliff. He's not worth that much anymore.

Or you could put that on the table for Dubois, but I wouldn't move the 2023 first.

Giving up the 8 OA pick for a locker room cancer in Mark Scheifele is pure asinine.

Washington needs to keep their 8 OA pick, Washington will be heading for a major rebuild within 3 years once Ovechkin, Backstrom, Oshie and Carlson retire. They need to replenish the prospect pipeline not kick the can down the road. When they're 0% chance of competing for a cup before said players retire.
