I am a Habs fan and would 100% do this. In saying that, Anaheim could keep a couple pieces (not the first or McT) and I still say yes - so Anaheim may want to recieve more, or give less.

Is it fair, or at least close to fair? Yeah I'd say its close.

My personal feeling is that ANA passes for a few reasons:
1 - Adam Fantilli is much better than anyone they can get at 5
2 - Cole Caufield is gonna want $8+M this year, and ANA isn't ready for that, esp with Fantilli and MacTavish under team control for the next 2-3 years. Terry and Zegras are already going to command $8M each this offseason,

I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of Caufield trade offers from Habs fans over the next while trying to turn him into a big return. Word on the street is he wants the big pay day and the Habs don't want to pay him more than Suzuki.

Fantilli > Caufield
McTavish > MTL 2023 1st
Luneau > Harris
Gaucher > Farrell
ANA 2023 2nd > MTL 2023 2nd

the 24 2nd to a 24 1st does not make up that difference lmaooooo

absolutley BRUTAL for the ducks, you get laughed off the phone for this "offer" or whatever this is called

Anaheim does not agree to this at all and it isn’t good for them

We are giving up much much more in terms of draft capital. From 2 to 5 is a big downgrade

Player wise we are also giving up much more too — top 6 centers, a rock solid 3C or even RW3 and the Q’s dman of the year are worth more than an undersized sniper who isn’t healthy and his 2 buddies

The values may not be too far off, although some people would say they are.

My thought from a Montreal perspective is: who would be the goal scorer in the top 6 (like Caufield is now)?

There is no doubt that you have lots of very talented players in the top 6 and I could see the forwards in a few years being lined up somewhat like this:

Dach Suzuki Slafkovsky
McTavish Fantilli Mesar
RHP Gaucher Roy
Ylonen Beck Tuch

My only question is, who is the sniper that consistently scores from anywhere, rather than just right in front of the net?

Anaheim's thoughts aside, maybe Montreal would do it or maybe they want to keep their trigger man in Caufield. Thoughts?
