If I’m the canes I’m asking for the isles pick and kasper.

Also zadina isn’t worth a third. Probably needs to be in a hockey trade with a another struggling player

Canes may have accepted that deal last year but not after the season Necas had.

Except you wouldn't get Kasper alone for him.

Why would the Canes sell Necas for futures?

Disagree, he has been very good defensively. The guy can't catch a break and keeps getting hurt. His offensive game definitely needs some work but he is a solid 3/4th line guy on a very affordable deal.

I don't know about that. I am high on Kasper but he hasn't done anything at the NHL level. There is no guarantee is turns into a solid NHLer while Necas is a good 2C with the potential to be a 1C.

Why would Carolina move him and if they did that's clearly not the package they'd want

Well that's an overpay, however I do agree that the pick should prob be this year's later 1st (NYI) over the 2024 1st.

Zadina is a 6OA pick that's struggling a bit on a bad roster....he is certainly worth a 3rd rounder to someone.

I think Carolina is looking to change some thing after their exit. They are clearly a regular season team. Aho, Slavvin, Burns, Svech are prob not going anywhere, so what's left?

Would love necas on the wings but I don’t think he’s that strong at center and reports have indicated that Carolina is looking for a vet in return.

Change ok but trading for futures on a young piece makes no sense and that package doesn't get him anyways, if they move him it's more for an nhl now piece.

Unless the canes are getting someone who can replace their top scorer from last season, I doubt they are going to trade him. You could offer the best prospects and Detroit's 2023 first and the value would be a huge overpay, but I still don't think the Canes do it. At the very least, if a top 6 player is moving out, I would expect a top 6 player coming back. Canes just made it to the ECF they aren't looking to ship out a good young player on a good contract this offseason.

Ya, you're not wrong, this would've been better last year. The 2023 1st makes it more appetizing but if CAR goes after Dubois or or O'Reilly to sub in for their 2C spot this could potentially work.

He's a very good center. I would even say criminally underrated and CARs best player.

Hawks decline. Time to admit Zadina is a bust. Nobody is giving up a 3rd for him.

If you are still using he was drafted 6OA 5 years later to justify a players trade value that’s a bad argument. Teams don’t give up 3rd rounders for 4th liners

Thank god you're not the Canes else they'd be a laughing stock.

You’re severely overrating kasper. Necas is the player you hope kasper develops into. Necas just had a 71 point season

Laughing stock of what? A late first in 24 and an okay defensive prospect doesn’t get you a 24 year old coming off a 71 point season. Necas would instantly be the second best forward on the wings and might be better than Larkin in a year or two

Maybe this is the difference; i doubt that pick is late. Hell, my guess is 13OA. Regardless, you asked Kasper + 17OA lol.

Switch it to the isles pick this year and Carolina still laughs at the offer. You have to give to get

I hope Kasper isn't Necas. Really don't. Don't think he projects to be him either.

Didn’t mean player type meant production wise. You should be thrilled if kasper hits a 71 point season
