It’s probably matched in less than a heart beat by Edmonton and frankly for a long term deal Bouchard is likely looking for more money so Holland would thank you if you can get Bouchard down that much

Even if I really like Bouchard game to be a Norris candidate...
Getting two 1st pick from a team that will be in a rebuilt... (two TOP 5 picks) worth a lot!!!!
Too much to give away for Phily on a rebuilt plan.

Scott Laughton! Thank you! That’s who I was thinking of ahha. Yah I don’t understand why they decline too. He is an underrated player. VERY underrated! If the oilers can get the cap, I would trade for him! He’s the perfect top 9 forward that a lot of teams need in my opinion.

Why doesn't PHI sign Bouchard for 1 year instead of 7 if you're going to offer sheet him? You end up paying less

1st, Allison was just thrown in to appease Leafs fans like Snipe and he still got upset.

If he'd sign it then sure but longer term for lots of money is harder to pass on.

Why would Bouchard sign that though? His long term value is likely higher right now and PHI isn't exactly a prime destination.

Do the Oilers plan on paying him in peanuts or something because you can't afford that price.

I don't think he'd sign it, making your point moot. It's not enough money for a 7 year term and Philadelphia sucks.

    "It's not enough money"

$53 million dollars isn't enough money? I think he'd like $53 mil over the $3 mil the Oilers are going to offer him.

Selling everything for picks then giving up 4 picks on one guy is the most flyers thing ever

I mean there are still 5 1sts in the next 2 years in this scenario. Bouchard is 23 and would fit out timeline perfectly. It's hard to find players of his caliber.

I mean, you sign the 1 year deal and then immediately extend him to a smaller cap hit for 8 years (9 years total) instead of 7 years

The cap is about to rise significantly 1 year from now. He'll get a lot more money then if he signs a 1-year bridge now.

Yeah, Canes will pass on that. Likely downgrading both picks, so no reason to do that.

The CBJ pick is likely an upgrade. The Flyers aren't going to be a bottom team next year
