Don’t think the Leafs will be giving up a first to trade Murray

Of all the trade-down scenarios for VAN that I've seen on here, this one is at least palatable for them IMO. Not sure Mitchell will turn into an NHL regular, but the extra draft capital makes it enticing.

Interesting. Let's assume the Toronto trade goes down and proceed to the Pittsburgh trade. I don't know if the draft pick value chart equates 14 to 28 and a couple of later picks. If it does PIT. is getting Granlund's cap space for free, so I would take back one of those picks going to the Pens. At that point would the Hawks be happy with 1, 14 and 19? Or would KD make another splash by trading 19 +++ for VAN's 11th and Boeser. Having picks 1, 11 and 14 would be something.

yeah maybe the 3rd is dropped. My thinking was granlund would cost a 2nd to dump, so 28+two 2nds and a 3rd would get you pens 1st.

this would be so tough for davidson to pull off in reality because all 3 trades would likely have to be made on draft day

If the Pens trade their 1st for Ullmark or Hellebuyck, they have lost their minds.

So with the cap dump trades you're saying moving Murray would cost the equivalent of 34 overall. While moving Granlund would cost the equivalent of 50 overall.

Both guys can be bought out for very little cap hit. I suspect neither would be moved with more than a 3rd.

Ullmark has had 1 good season. Hellebuyck is a rental. 14 overall is too valuable for either of those gentlemen.

I hope Davidson has assigned someone to read these ACGM pages to give him some trade ideas. LOL.

basically. dickenson with a better contract cost a 2nd to move. leafs are not going to buy out murray and waste 2 mil in cap next summer when they need to resign their ufas
