Laf has been a flop. I’m sure you’d get more than a rossi for him, but definitely not a 1st and blue chip C prospect, particularly not to a center starved team.

I honestly think wings to the wild is just a less than ideal trade partner - you’d get much better value from other teams, maybe a Ottawa or someone that has a lot of young upcoming center depth

Why is this post named what it is? Sorry it’s irrational to fixate on this, but I have honest questions…

Make it one of the Wild's 2nds (Vegas's) and you have a deal.

I mean winger is last thing we need on a center started team and having spent two 1st round picks on wingers coming next year

I figure if the org sees Rossi as more of a lost cause and can package him for someone as touted as Laf, despite his lukewarm start, that it could be worth it. Ohgren and Yurov will not be regulars until after the buyouts are over with, at which time they could use one in a package in a sign-and-trade for a top-six center. Something like that.

Even Laf's QO is probably too pricey to play with anyway, cap-wise, so this probably doesn't make sense regardless. I get rose-colored goggles when I see the possibility of any former 1st overall on the Wild, hah.

Right wing is the most starved position in our organization. Not that Laf is that, but run the depth chart one time for me and tell me how RW/RD are not more starved than C. Even at the NHL level we have a 2C, 3C and 4C that are pretty good and decent term. 1C is and has been the problem, but that shouldn’t stop us from looking at long term replacements for guys like Zuccarello and Johansson. I wouldn’t do Rossi+1st for Laf. I would consider Rossi+ though.

I have Khusnutdinov with a better chance of being a 1C than Rossi.

But the thing is we've never had coaches or gm who seem to care about position stuff. That's the sad truth. We need a 1c desperately, and I agree. I guess for me I just want to give the prospects a chance. Tired of what bill and Dean Evason are doing

What are Bill and Dean doing?

Since Bill arrived, he’s picked three centers (Rossi, Khusnutdinov, Haight) in the top 2 rounds. He’s only been here for three drafts. Look at our draft picks from 2007 through 2019. They picked FOUR centers in the top 2 rounds of those years! Granlund, Phillips, Eriksson Ek and Kunin. Woof

Dean didn’t play Rossi because he wasn’t ready.

Dean is more critical of young guys and benches them for mistakes then veterans who do the same. They don't give young guys a chance

Which young guys are you talking about? He had no trouble finding minutes for Boldy and Faber.

Rossi playing him on 4th line was irresponsible. Same with Beckman! They should be given chances on top lines! Not bottom line. Did connor dewar even play in playoffs ? If he did, wasn't much minutes. For some reason, the 4th line with Connor dewar on pk that was so good, weren't given a chance on pk in playoffs
