I wouldn't put Debrusk in the bargain bin category - plenty of other guys to move before you get to him.

Leafs aren’t trading Samsonov or Liljegren for bargains. Liljegren is their only proven RHD signed for next year and Samsonov is the only proven goalie on the roster. Brodie however fits this category

It all depends on who boston does/doesn't like. those are more so guys I would target, but basically whoever boston decides they can't keep should be available at a discounted price

I've just seen a bunch of Leafs fans throwing away Liljegren and Samsonov for nothing. And younger, (but NHL proven) team controlled guys like that (see, Graves, Marino, Siegenthaler, Vitek) seem to be FItzy's targets when he pulls off his masterclass fleeces

The Bruins wouldn't trade him at a discount when he was having a down year and requested a trade, so why would they now? If DeBrusk got the market there would be a lot of teams calling

Whatever "Leafs" fans you saw doing this don't appear to be very smart.

Neither were Pittsburgh or Washington's GMs when we fleeced them for Siegs and Marino

They have 1.25 mill in cap space with a 19 man roster. The team just missed the playoffs and will have a new GM. There will be cap casualties, and it's unknown who will be prioritized to keep. Anyone on the flames could end up being a cap casualty, and that lack of cap space drives down leverage and prices

Canucks won’t move either of those guys for below market value. Bear was a bargain bin pickup for us, he’s fit well, management likes his style, and he plays the position we are weakest at. No chance we’d move him for market value even, it would probably take an overpay to get him out of Van. We just picked up Beauvillier as a throw in in the Horvat deal to make the cap work. He’s bounced back and played very well for us, again we got him for below market value so we’d only move him for market value minimum.

Garland is a guy who would be available as a bargain bin type player. Vancouver wants to clear cap, and he seems to be the odd man out. He’ll almost certainly provide more than his price tag if he gets moved. Boeser could also find himself in that category, but I think the Nucks would rather hold on to him if they can.

On this list, I'd be after Ullmark and DeBrusk, but I wouldn't give up a first for either.

I think you got the CGY players wrong. You could probably get Zadorov and Vladar for cheap, not Tanev/Backlund.

Boston isn't desperate to move a young/relatively cheap top-6 winger who has been one of our best wingers the last two years for a discount. The only guys who may be "discounted" are guys like Ullmark/Hall due to the NTCs and Grzcelyk whose contract doesn't align with his talent.

This... if Debrusk is traded he is getting a first round pick in return or equivalent.

Not cheap per say, but below market value (such as if you were trying to pry them from a team that didn't need the cap space). Also Zadorov was another guy I was thinking of as a 1 year stopgap RHD. Vladar doesn't fit our needs, Devils don't need to make a goalie move unless its an upgrade on Vitek

Boston needs to clear cap space:
That loses them leverage in any trade negotiation.

If they decide that DeBrusk is the odd one out of their winger group (which it is very possible they may not), then he would be available, at a below market value price due to Boston's cap issues. Same with whoever they decide to ship out. I put DeBrusk bc he is the only one I'd be interested in (not interested in a Hall reunion)

Yea I dont know where u get bargains from any of these names lul

None will come fairly cheap

Sammy aint going anywhere, Brodie has been the Leafs most steady Dman since he signed, and Liligren is on a nice contract and has top 4 in the making

Same goes for a lot of the guys on other teams you have mentioned

If we look at next season Calgary only needs to sign 4th liners, and 7th D. The lack of cap-space is an issue that can be solved by moving one or both of the 2 players I mentioned. I don't think the Flames need to give away Tanev, Backlund, or Mangiapane at below market value.

The reason I mentioned those 2 players are because Kylington is coming back next season, and will take over the #5D spot, Stetcher had a great time in CGY, and the Flames want to re-sign him. Meanwhile, the Flames have the AHL goalie of the year from the last 2 seasons in Wolf.

Zadorov could play RHD, but he's only been used on the left side in his time in CGY.

If you want to run it back sure, but I'm not entirely sure the new GM will want to do that
