I'm not totally knocking the value. I just dont think Smith fits us at all. Don't like the player personally. Not sure what Poulin is. He kinda needs to be a regular this yr. But safe to say he is a long shot. Granlund is a cap dump. The 1st i certainly appealing though. If you added Pettersson or even Joseph it might fit better. Those two for Pettersson, 1st, Granlund?

What if we take out Granlund and do 1st POJ 3rd for Mikheyev and Garland?

addresses the canucks need to move wingers but highly doubt Mik is the guy they move. he was great on 1 ACL last year and is exactly the player management was targeting. none of those pieces really move the needle (first is nice, but managment already flipped a first for Hronek so not sure they are in the market for another)

Fair, but they might just want to get rid that contract and move on.

Idk if the Pens do that because Pettersson was arguably our best defenseman last season, but maybe if we had a bit more value... I think it's certainly an interesting idea.

I haven't seen anyone make a trade like this so I thought it was a fun one. Addresses both teams needs imo.

Anaheim isn't trading four years of goaltending for THAT garbage.

Why do we need to "get rid of that contract" when we have $25 million in cap space after signing Zegras and Terry?

I think they could be in the market to be honest. Even if they aren't maybe they use it to flip for another player (ie 3C, or a Dman) but I could see them looking to add draft capital. Doubt they move Mikheyev though

I would absolutely do that. Unfortunately Canucks managements MO is win now. But I'd do it just to clear the cap space and just sign some better UFAs if it got us the extra first.
