I really dont like the Toews trade, he is way too important to the team

I think PHI would want quite a bit more for Hayes 50% retained

I don't think Pittsburgh accept. And I seriously doubt that Montreal put Pitlick on waiver again. But I could be wrong

So Pitlick & Wideman could be waived IF no one is moved

Fair trade tho, but I understand if you don't like it

For Hayes, I agree that it would take more than a former 1st rounder, but what more ? A top 10 2024 1st round pick ? Sean Behrens ?

I would say pitlick being waived is a pretty safe bet. He was passed on the depth chart by RHP and ylonen

If the avs are trading toews I doubt it's for a rental. May as well use him as a own rental if managment doesn't think they can re-sign him. If were trading him it's for a player(s) we have control over for several years.

No way the Pens make that trade.. Guentzel is the best pure goal scorer they have on the team. I believe Dubas extends his contract. They also have zero LW depth after him too.

The disrespect on my guy Ryan Poehling, but Zucker will probably be back and they could sign one of Barbashev or Bertuzzi

Dude, why would a team trade a player with terms for rental Toews ... because that team probably can't afford Toews past this incoming season

That's why the avs would rather just keep him. I'm not saying he's likely to be moved but stay with colorado. Why would the avs move their second best dman when Giraid is inconsitant and Byram is injury prone. Only way they move Toews is for a player with term.

Because IMO they need more help up front then on the back-end
You disagree and I don't think you are wrong, and Toews probably won't be move

For Hayes I think you lower the retention by a 10-15% or add a solid propect or 2nd and they'd probably take it.

I like Poehling, he’s got the one thing the Penguins need: speed.. just have to work on his hands. He had a number of clear breakaways that he was unable to finish. Reminds me of a young Pascal Dupuis!
I think they move on from Zucker, I loved his energy but he’s going to cash in, he earned a big paycheck this year and I don’t think Dubas ponies up. Bertuzzi’s going to sign an inflated contract somewhere. I want Dubas to go after Barbashev, really enjoying his play and I think he fits a need the team has.

The defence is to injury prone imo to move toews unless it's addressing our biggest need which is centre. If the avs got hayes and feel he's the 2C then I'd think they keep toews over trading him for Guentzel. If they don't have a 2C i think trading toews for somone like scheifele makes sense. (I'm also bias and very high on toews).

Quick and easy no for the Avs. You don't trade top 10 D for a wing if you're smart especially in a straight rental swap and adding cap when you're up against it.

We also don't have any elite puck moving-D besides Letang. We struggled badly with exits/entries from the D last year and barely any of our D were mobile. It is way way easier to find a legit 1st line winger than a legit 1D. That's why I take this trade.

Understand the logic but perennial 40 goal scorers that we know click with the playing styles of both of your star centers aren’t available out there at a gettable price. There are some good puck moving defenseman out there that won’t cost the farm to obtain.

Which puck moving D? Not disagreeing just curious because it's a huge need
