My only problem with this is the insane cap crunch it's going to cause next offseason

Yeah that was the hardest part. Team needs big and physical though. PLD trade likely rules out the other two

That cap crunch is the hardest part of making Armchair GMs for this season because you have to be cognizant of the cap for both this and next year. I would suggest getting rid of the Boston and Calgary trades and bring up somebody like Domenick Fensore to play that open defensive position.

One year of TT is of no interest to Winnipeg.

I like that idea a lot more. Max Lajoie I could also see as a call up.

Dubois extended would be a Jarvis, KK and a 3rd.

KK for cap but still has some value, Jarvis is the 1st for most teams and then the pick

I like Fensore as a prospect, but he’s a long shot to even make the NHL, much less play meaningful minutes next season or even the season after. He’s going to need a lot of AHL time. Honka might be ready next year, for spot duty. But much more likely they end up with a journeyman, vet LD to pay with Chatfield.

To the OP - if Toffoli only costs that much, sign me up. Don’t see the point of the Grzyz trade, just sign a vet to league min and keep the picks. Kinda meh on PLD, would rather spend those sort of pieces for a longer term piece. pLD ain’t signing long term in Raleigh

Fensore is just the first guy who came to mind tbh and I think that Honka is right on the cusp of NHL minutes. Graves and Gostisbehere are the guys who I want most to play with Chatfield.

How about not wasting assets on PLD? Calgary and Boston trades are fair, though.

Boston could do better than that for Gryz. Worst case they can get a 2023 3rd, but I'm sure they hope for a second. A 3rd in TWENTY TWENTY FIVE is too far away to be competitive.
