Goodrow trade doesn't make much sense to me. Not only is Jarnkrok a solid depth piece for them, but the cap space is so important for a team trying to extend a franchise player. Goodrow would basically be the new Kerfoot but even worse because Kerfoot is better and Goodrow's contract still has quite a few years left.

What is the logic for the Rangers behind the Goodrow trade? The only reason the Rangers consider trading Goodrow is to free up cap space to sign RFA's, so you propose they trade Goodrow with $1.8m/year retained plus a 2nd round pick for Jarnkrok who has a $2.1/cap hit for 3 more years. In essence, the Rangers swap Goodrow for Jankrok and they lose about $200k in cap space per year plus a 2nd round pick and get a less versatile, less physical, bottom 6 center/forward. Yeah, I think the Rangers pass without even much thought.

Ok, sure. Rangers say no thanks but counter offer Goodrow for Nylander with 50% retention plus a 2nd round pick.

Not sure if he edited the trade but with the suggested retention and getting a 2nd that trade makes no sense for NYR and starts to make a lot more for the Leafs.

Maybe I just didn't see the retention but I still don't like it for Toronto. Why give up on Jarnkrok for just a second? Not to mention the longevity the Goodrow contract has. Leafs would be better off staying away from that and you could say the Rangers are better off buying Goodrow out.

Yeah, I don't know what the motivation here is maybe it's the assumption that Treliving doesn't like Järnkrok idk, but I think Goodrow could live up to a ~1.9M cap hit. Rangers would definitely be better off buying him out than doing this.

You gotta understand we're not trading Ras unless there is an overpay, plus Knies would prolly have to be added in that deal if we're retaining

A 6'3 powerforward with Kane hands that can skate is alot more rare than a puck moving number 2 RHD , Leafs org literally named knies untouchable before he played a game in the league, there's a reason you're asking for him

CGY doesn't need him, we have Coronato whos equally as good. We only would want Knies if the leafs want Andersson loll. Plus Andersson's contract adds that extra value u wont find in other Dman as good as him

"We have one good prospect, we don't need another" smh , I promise you Andersson isn't gonna go for anything close to what you think,

Andersson isn't gunna go for anything, he's not being traded lolll. Plus we have plenty of other prospects, Wolf, Pelletier, Zary, Porier, Duehr + Phillips (Kinda), Ciona, and our 16th pick...

none of those prospects come close to knies, anyway not trading andersson is galaxy brained considering the flames likely won’t be contenders for a while
