guessing he takes a bit less for 2 years. Was tempted to put 2.3 but he hasn't been as good since 2021

I don’t see trading for both Comtois and Joshua, and not playing either one of them.

Two thoughts- I can't see Anaheim being in the market for a rental winger like olofsson. And barbashev, I remember the 14 draft, I had a few friends that were ecstatic that barbashev fell out of the first round, and we had the first pick of round 2. The Sabres picked Brendan lemieux anyway. Then Claude told the Sabres there was no way Brendan would ever play there. Good times.

You can make a strong case that he'll never put up similar goals as he did that year because he had an unsustainable 17% shooting percentage that season. Now that he's regressed back to a more league normal 8-10% his goals are what they are. Bottom six level.

The only chance he has is if his coach throws a bunch of top six ice time and at the least 2nd unit PP minutes at him. In other words get a lot more shot attempts. I find it unlikely that either of those things happen in Buffalo.

I'm perfectly happy with Comtois on my 4th line at a salary of 1.5M or so. But that won't happen in Anaheim or via a trade because the trading team is going to be stuck to his QO. Sadly the most likely scenario with Max is getting non-tendered. The Ducks are starting to have a track record of that. Heinen, Steel, Milano, etc.

Likeliness aside... one of the better trade suggestions for Boston involving Grzelcyk!
