If we trade for a rental LhD, i.e., a stopgap, it won't be for an expensive one whose actual compensation will be 150% of his already very expensive cap hit which will be difficult to absorb with only $7.5 million of cap space and Gabe Vilardi and Rasmus Kupari and Tobias Bjornfot to re-sign.

Leafs add in Mathews at 50% retained, marner at 50% retained, nylander @50% retained. Mathews and nylander have an extension in place as well as their first round pick from 2023-2033 to the wings deal

I feel like people who include Moritz Seider in trades on here know nothing about hockey.

Moritz Seider will never be traded. 15 years from now it’ll be no different. Career Red Wing. Don’t waste ur time.

Robertson was injured. Vrana has substance abuse issues. So much so that Stevie Y is paying a considerable sum to keep him away from his young team. You don’t put guys like that around young players and if there is anything about Toronto — they got rid of those types and cleaned house with guys like Lupul when Matthews and the crew showed up. Vrana will not be part of the Leafs while Shanahan is here.

I wouldn’t expect Vrana to move at this point. I’d imagine his value will only increase if he can stay in the lineup and continue to score. At which point why would the Blues trade him?
